School Supplies for Delaware County Children Services
Collecting during the month of September
Items Needed:  Any school supply especially backpacks.  
Items collected will be distributed to children in Delaware County who have been placed in the Foster Care
Program.  Most of these children come into the program with nothing of their own.  

Canned Food Drive for People In Need (PIN)
Collecting during the month of October
Items Needed:  
See Food Pantry List
Items collected will be distributed to the families in Delaware County.  The items collected are packaged
into Nutritious Food Packages and families are able to receive these Packages up to 4 times per year.  The
food pantry has been helping families in need for over 30 years in the Delaware County area.

Toy Drive
Collecting during the month of November
Items Needed:  New Toys for all age children
Partnering with the Orange Township Fire Department, we are collecting new toys which will be distributed
to needy children in Delaware County through the Holiday Clearing House associated with People In Need

Book Drive for Feed The Mind
Collecting during the month of December
Items Needed:  New or Gently used Children’s Books
The Feed The Mind project began in 2005 as the Senior Girl Scout Gold Award Project of Lauren Espe at
the Lutheran Social Services Frebis Food Pantry.  It was designed to provide children’s books to families
being served at the Food Pantry to motivate and encourage their children’s reading.  More than 1,000
books per month have been distributed since the project began.  

Family Need Items for YWCA Family Center
Collecting during the month of January

The YWCA Family Center is Central Ohio’s first 24-hour facility for temporarily homeless women and
children.  The facility opened in September of 2005.  Since they opened they have served 2,209 people,
including 1,330 children.  Items collected will be distributed to families at the center as they stay at the
facility or are placed in permanent housing as their “new start” on their life.

Animal Need Items for the Humane Society of Delaware County
Collecting during the month of February
Items needed:

All items brought to Humane Society are used to take care of the homeless animals associated with the
Humane Society.

Peanut Butter Drive for Lifeline Christian Mission
Collecting during the month of March
Items needed:  Jars of Peanut Butter
Peanut Butter collected is sent to poverty stricken countries like Haiti, Honduras, El Salvador, and Cuba.  
One large tablespoon of peanut butter is equal to a small pork chop in protein.  Peanut Butter is distributed
to toddlers, pregnant and anemic women, and children in the countries named above.  

Favor Mats for The Council of Older Adults of Delaware County
Collecting during any month of year
Items needed:  75 Favor Mats
The Senior Nutrition Program of Delaware County delivers 150,000 meals per year primarily to
homebound seniors.  The Favor Mats are delivered along with a hot meal.  The seniors truly enjoy the
special touches.
